Fields of interest Paolo Pesenti is an Assistant Vice President specializing in international economics. He has also been a resident scholar at the International Monetary Fund, a scientific consultant at the European Central Bank, and is affilated with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Mr. Pesenti previously taught at Princeton and has served as visiting professor at several research institutions worldwide. He is the co-author of an award-winning book on the crisis of the European Monetary System. For his research on international portfolio diversification, Mr. Pesenti has received the Hicks-Tinbergen medal of the European Economic Association. Since 2002 he has been involved with the design and development of GEM, the new multi-country simulation model of the International Monetary Fund. He is currently an associate editor of the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. His recent research focuses on the development of models for policy analysis in open and closed economies. |
