Fields of interest Stefania Albanesi joined the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a senior economist with the Microeconomics Studies function in January 2012. She is also a research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Center for Economic and Policy Research. Dr. Albanesi’s research interests are in macroeconomics, public economics, and labor economics. Her work on government policy has studied the link between inflation and inequality, the design of monetary institutions, and capital income taxation in economies with incentive problems. Her contributions in labor economics have examined the historical relation between medical progress and female labor force participation and fertility in the US and other advanced economies, and the determinants of gender wage gaps. Prior to joining the Bank, she was an Associate Professor of Economics at Columbia University and an Assistant Professor of Economics at Duke University. Dr. Albanesi has a PhD from Northwestern University. |
