Financial Awareness for Young Adults
The New York Fed's video competitions combine peer-to-peer learning with video technology to advance financial literacy among young adults. Local college and university students from the five boroughs were challenged to create a 30-second video about using credit wisely aimed at young adults. |

New York Fed develops new tool to analyze local housing market; regional mortgage conditions utility now available online
The Regional Mortgage Conditions utility presents analysis of the housing market in the tri-state region from September 2007 through December 2011. The tool provides information about the percentage of loans in foreclosure as well as those who are 60 days and 90+ days delinquent. March 27, 2012 |

Household Debt and Credit Report - Fourth Quarter 2011
The New York Fed’s Quarterly Report on Household Debt and Credit provides unique data and insight into the credit conditions and activity of U.S. consumers. In the fourth quarter of 2011 the report, which includes data on a variety of household debt levels, revealed further declines in real estate debt and delinquencies, while showing that other forms of consumer indebtedness increased. Small Business Finances The August 2010 Small Business Borrowers Poll finds that between 2008 and 2010, credit card reliance increased among all age groups except for 0-5 year-old firms. Reliance on bank loans fell among all age groups, except for 20+ year-old firms. Released April 2011 |
New York Fed’s new small business poll shows evidence of credit demand; cash flows for small businesses key to credit approval
Small businesses typically create more jobs than larger firms do at the start of economic recoveries. However, recent contractions in borrowing have limited the ability of small businesses to play this critical role. A poll of small-business finances finds evidence of comparatively strong credit demand, but weakened applicant quality, with borrowers continuing to perceive restricted credit availability.
