  • Insurance Teaching Kit
    This site provides an insurance kit consisting of a teachers’ guide, student guide and classroom activities about life, auto, and homeowners insurance. In the teacher’s guide, educators will find a set of discussion questions and answers. The student guide contains brief readings on life, auto, and homeowners insurance, a glossary of terms to know, and references to additional websites. In “classroom activities,” educators will find interactive instructional materials for teaching about insurance, including a “life insurance needs calculator,” “a day in the life of an insurance agent,” and a “draw it-learn it” interdisciplinary activity.
  • Insurance Education Foundation
    This is the website of the Insurance Education Foundation (IEF), an organization that seeks to improve the understanding of insurance and its role in society through the education of teachers and students. Among the features on this site is a description of the professional development opportunities offered by IEF, a list of the foundation’s publications, and a set of instructional materials for educators. The educator’s materials deal with topics related to risk management, homeowners, health, automobile, and life insurance.

    This website has been developed by the Glencoe/McGraw Company as part of the Glencoe Online Business and Personal Finance program. Created as a virtual personal insurance agent, the site provides cost information on many kinds of insurance. It also has a number of estimator, analyzer, and calculator tools for figuring the cost of auto, life, homeowners, renters, and health insurance.
  • Missouri Department of Insurance
    Developed by the Missouri Department of Insurance, this website provides instructional materials about insurance that can be used by teachers in any state. Among the materials included are lesson plans on renters, health, and auto insurance, crossword puzzles and word search activities for students, and links to insurance-related websites designed for educators.
