Why the Fed?

The Fed offers the unique opportunity to challenge myself to learn more about the global banking and financial environment from the perspective of the central bank of the United States while working in a diverse environment that fosters balance between my professional and personal responsibilities.

My Responsibilities

I’m responsible for analyzing the short-term, cross-border positions of domestic financial institutions that are both foreign and domestic owned, which reflect the current financial trends of banks and broker/dealers in the United States. This information is used in publication material discussing financial trends in Department of Treasury Bulletins, Federal Reserve Bulletins and the U.S. Commerce Department Survey of Current Business.

Challenges and Rewards of My Job

The challenges and rewards of my position involve two components. First, I continue to learn about the different aspects of my function and how they fit into the larger scope of the Bank’s products, services and function to the global economy. Second, creating more efficient processes, practices and policies to increase the quality of information we produce for the users.

How Is the Fed Unique?
The Feb offers unique and interesting professional challenges, the opportunity to learn about all the aspects of banking, and a conduit through which any individual can grow in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.
