The mission of the Communications Group is to develop, coordinate and disseminate information about the Bank and its work to internal and external audiences. Specific responsibilities include:

 
Community Affairs
  • Provides information and technical assistance to financial institutions, nonprofits and others on community development issues.
  • Conducts outreach in the Second District to develop regional relationships and networks.
  • Facilitates exchange and building consensus across sectors to develop viable solutions to issues in low- and moderate-income communities.
Internal Communication
  • Develops and delivers messaging, articles, and information items to improve the Bank's effectiveness in communicating with, educating and engaging its employee community.
  • Manages various Bankwide communication tools, such as the Bank's intranet, print publications, and other applications, tools and templates designed to support knowledge discovery, information sharing and efficient internal processes.
Media Relations and Public Affairs
  • Serves as the Bank's central contact for public and media inquiries.
  • Provides public tours and arranges talks to visiting groups.
  • Disseminates information regarding Bank activities to the public through the media.
  • Monitors the media for developments of interest to the Bank.
  • Distributes printed information about the Federal Reserve, financial markets and the U.S. and regional economies.
Regional Affairs
  • Promotes sustained economic vitality by leveraging the Bank's strengths to benefit the people in the District.
  • Maintains active connections with the District's people and key communities in order to inform Bank policy decisions and build support for sound monetary and regulatory policy.
  • Promotes economic and financial education and greater understanding of the roles of the Federal Reserve System by providing instructional materials and programs for students and educators.
Web Communications and Resource Management
  • Maintains and develops the Bank's public website.
  • Oversees the group budget, administrative matters and bill payment.
