The Automation and System Services Group is responsible for the provision of technology services to the Bank. The Group also provides national incident response and national remote access services for the Federal Reserve System. It is organized around the following business areas:

Business Systems Development and
Electronic Payments and Markets Systems Development
  • Develops, tests, implements and maintains software programs for the Bank's business areas.
  • Develops applications used throughout the entire Federal Reserve System.
Information Security
  • Maintains the operational readiness of the Bank.
  • Manages projects dealing exclusively with security products.
  • Looks for potential weakness within the Bank's existing security infrastructure.
  • Provides consulting services to groups within the Federal Reserve System.
Information Technology
  • Supports technology infrastructure throughout the Second District, including Windows clients, Internet access, server operating systems and database operations.
  • Provides customer relationship management (CRM) services to communicate how technology impacts the Bank's core businesses.
  • Provides contract management and other acquisition services for hardware and software.
  • Hosts the National Remote Access Services center for all Federal Reserve Districts.
Network and Data Center Operations
  • Provides strategic planning services for all voice and data communications networks within the Second District.
  • Administers PBX, voicemail, NetWare and Lotus Notes resources.
  • Provides round-the-clock monitoring of application, database, and web server hardware components and system resources.
Strategic Analysis and Technology Training
  • Oversees budget and expense processes.
  • Delivers technology and information security training.
  • Provides research services via its virtual computer sciences library.
  • Furnishes administrative support to the Automation and System Services Group.
